Youth Activities

We are starting a Youth Outreach program in our chapter and we're in need of used equipment. We need rods, reels, waders, fly tying equipment... you name it we can use it. If you have any old equipment that you would like to part with this is a great place to give for a good cause. You can donate any items by bringing them to any chapter meeting and dropping them with any CCA officer.   If this does not work contact me.
Thanks,

Teach a Kid to Fly Fish and Our Legacy of Conservation and Recreation is Created!
Youth Outreach Volunteer Opportunity
Hooked on Fly Fishing
 At
Tahosa Boy Scout Camp
August 19th or August 26th or September 9th or September 16th

Cherry Creek Anglers has the opportunity to offer our expert fly fishing experience to Boy Scouts working toward their Fly Fishing merit badge. This merit badge was designed by Boy Scouts of America in coordination with Trout Unlimited. There has been a long history of partnership between the Scouts and Trout Unlimited. Our hope is to enhance this relationship with an opportunity for Cherry Creek Anglers to volunteer our knowledge and experience.

Our chapter has been asked to find two to three volunteers to help instruct at the Tahosa camp on any of the mentioned dates. Help is needed on the Saturday of the camp. You can choose to drive up Friday evening and stay the night in one of the lodges or you can drive up on Saturday morning and return on Saturday evening. You can also stay Saturday evening if you choose. All meals are included. If spending the night, bring a sleeping bag. Fishing equipment is provided for the Scouts.

There will be stations at the camp ranging from fly tying, casting, equipment knowledge, conservation, safety, and time on the water catching fish. The lake at the camp is chalked full of Rainbows and Cutthroats. One of the expectations of the merit badge is to catch two different species of fish on the fly. These are stalkers and there is winter kill so it is okay to "hook and cook." In fact the scouts will be cleaning and cooking their own trout.

Your volunteerism is encouraged and appreciated!

Dates of the Camps:
August 18th-20th August 25th-27th September 8th-10th September 15th-17th (Remember, your help is only needed on the Saturday full day, however you
can stay at the camp the full weekend)
Please contact me if you are interested! Let me know the date you would like  to volunteer.
