I caught this 23 inch rainbow on the South Platte, on a gray #20 PMD, on July 30th. I would estimate him to be somewhere around 7-8 pounds. It took about 15 to 20 minutes to get him netted. When removing the hook I noticed it had bent quite a bit and I felt really lucky to keep it on my line. It was the only fish I caught that day, as I missed a few others either failing to set the hook properly or the line broke. It rained most of the day, but I hardly noticed it!

Last weekend was a great float on the Colorado River. Plenty of fish and beautiful country. The weather was sunny and in the 60's. The water was up a bit, around 3000 cfm, and somewhat cloudy in places. We used Stoneflies all day long with pretty good success. Not much happening on top water anywhere. Great day!
